Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Meola during the period 2000-01. The MetroStars man had earned his first cap way back in 1988 and had been USA's #1 choice keeper for both the 1990 and 1994 World Cups. He struggled for game time after 94' though, largely due to the good form of both Kasey Keller and Brad Friedel. He had somewhat of a resurgence during the period this shirt was worn in, though, and played various friendly matches as team USA picked up wins over the likes of Chile, China, and Mexico. He earned a superb 100 caps in total for his country, the last of which came in 2006 against Jamaica, and enjoyed club spells with the Metrostars, Kansas City Wizards, and New York Red Bulls.
